The Father’s Love

When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He began with the phrase, “Our Father in heaven.” Jesus introduced the revolutionary relational concept of God as a Father to His followers. The following prayer is an affirmation of the Father’s love in prayer and, if you are willing let the Spirit speak to your heart, an expression of the Father’s love to you as His child. Place your name in the blanks. As you read the expression, let the Spirit speak the Father’s love to your heart in a deep way. As you affirm the Father’s love, let the Spirit breath life into your words of thanksgiving and praise.

An Affirmation of the Father’s Love
Dear heavenly Father, I want to thank You for Your love. I am awed by the truth that You knew me before the creation of the world and in love You predestined me to be adopted as Your child. I praise Your glorious grace, which You have freely given to me.

Holy Father, thank You for loving me even when I didn’t love You. Thank You for sending Your Son to be the atoning sacrifice for my sins and satisfying Your wrath towards me. I praise You that there is now no condemnation for me because I am in Christ Jesus.

Holy Father, I am so grateful for Your love and grace. While I was still a sinner, Your Son, Jesus, died for me. I am grateful that I can approach Your throne as one who has been declared righteous through His blood. I am grateful that while I was an enemy to You, Your Son, Jesus reconciled me to You through His death.

Father God, thank You for giving Your Son so that I may know You by experience every day for all of eternity, because of my faith in Your Son.

Loving Father, thank You for the extravagance of Your love which You have lavished upon me. I am Your child! I am blown away by this truth that I am a child of the God of the universe.

Father God, I thank You that You love me and that You will show me what You are doing in my life and the lives of those around me today.

Heavenly Father, I thank You that all things are in Your hands and that You are going to place in my hands all that You have called me to do today. I praise You for your love.
Amen
